THURSDAY 13TH DHUL QIDA 1439 AH– 26th JULY 2018 CE

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah. As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu.

Man yahdihillahi fala mudhillallah waman yudhlil fala haadiyalah.

Praise be to Allaah, we praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own selves and from our evil deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides cannot be misled, and whomsoever He leaves astray cannot be guided. I bear witness that there is no god except Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger (sallalahu alaihi wa salaam).

‘’O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not? Grievously odious is it in the sight of Allah that ye say that which ye do not.’’ (Holy Quran chapter 61: 2-3)

And do not occupy yourself with what you have no knowledge of. The hearing, and the sight, and the brains—all these will be questioned. (Holy Quran Chapter 17:36).

At length, when they reach the (Fire), their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them, as to (all) their deeds. They will say to their skins: "Why bear ye witness against us?" They will say: "Allah hath given us speech― (He) Who giveth speech to everything: He created you for the first time, and unto Him were ye to return. (Holy Quran Chapter 41:20-21)

PREAMBLE

Don't think your value is related to how much you have amassed. Never judge your self-worth by your net worth(Leader, King, Rich, knowledgeable etc.). You came into this world with nothing (at birth were you clothed?) & you’re not taking anything material out of it (When you are lucky and put in a grave; would you take all your possessions with you?). Life’s not about the wealth you’ve acquired. It’s about the bonds you’ve forged (faith, beliefs, taqwa etc) and especially with your Creator to start with.

The path to life is not conquest of money, but victory over evil, baking our 'ever demanding devil's mind' to the path of reality, oneness, warmth, love and compassion.

Of what use is our life with riches & no one around and how does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?

THE GATHERING OF MANKIND AND THE ANIMALS

What can you say about how people will look following the Resurrection? Will people will be wearing their clothes or not? Will the animals be resurrected after death or not?

Allaah calls the Day of Resurrection the Day of Gathering because Allaah will gather His slaves, mankind and the jinn. Allaah says:

“Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. That is a Day whereon mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present”[Hood 11:103]

“Say (O Muhammad): (Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.

All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day”[al-Waaqiyah 56:49-50]

“There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Gracious (Allaah) as a slave.

Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting.

And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender)”[Maryam 19:93-95]

“And (remember) the Day We shall cause the mountains to pass away (like clouds of dust), and you will see the earth as a levelled plain, and we shall gather them all together so as to leave not one of them behind”[al-Kahf 18:47]

Also included in this gathering are the animals. Shaykh al-Islam (Ibn Taymiyah) said:

“As for the animals, they will all be gathered by Allaah, as is indicated by the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

‘There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered’[al-An’aam 6:38]

‘And when the wild beasts are gathered together’[al-Takweer 81:5]

‘And among His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He wills’[al-Shoora 42:29]

The word idha (translated here as when or whenever) refers to something that will inevitably come to pass. And there are many well-known ahaadeeth on this topic. On the Day of Resurrection Allaah will gather the animals, and the scores among them will be settled. Then it will be said to them, “Be dust!” and they will become dust.

At that point the kaafir will say, “Would that I were dust!” (al-Naba’ 78:40 – interpretation of the meaning). Whoever says that they will not be brought back to life is making a serious mistake, indeed he is misguided or is a kaafir. And Allaah knows best. Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 4/248

Ahmad (20534) narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was sitting, and two sheep locked horns, and one of them butted the other and defeated it. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) smiled, and it was said to him, “Why are you smiling, O Messenger of Allaah?” He said, “Because of the sheep. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, it will settle its score with the other on the Day of Resurrection.”

Ahmad Shaakir said, its isnaad is hasan and unbroken.

Muslim (2582) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “All rights will be restored on the Day of Resurrection, until even the hornless sheep will settle its score with the one that has horns.”

Al-Nawawi said:

This clearly indicates that the animals will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection, and that they will be brought back to life like human beings who are accountable, and like children and the insane and those who were not reached by the call of Islam. This is what is indicated by the Qur’aan and Sunnah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ (٥)

“And when the wild beasts are gathered together”[al-Takweer 81:5]

If something is stated in a shar’i text, and there is no rational or shar’i reason not to interpret it according to what it appears to mean, then it must be taken at face value. The scholars said that it is not a condition of the gathering or the resurrection that there should be reward or punishment. With regard to the hornless sheep settling their scores with those that have horns, this is not the retaliation that comes with accountability, because they are not accountable. Rather it is simply settling the scores. And Allaah knows best.

People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection barefoot, naked and uncircumcised. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will be gathered barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.” Then he recited, “As We began the first creation, We shall repeat it. (It is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it” [al-Anbiya’ 21:104 – interpretation of the meaning]. Then he said: “The first one to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibraaheem. Some people from among my followers will be taken away towards the left and I will say, ‘My followers, my followers!’ He will say, ‘They kept turning back on their heels after you left them.’ And I will say what the righteous slave said:

‘And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things. (This is a great admonition and warning to the Christians of the whole world).

If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily, You, only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise’ [al-Maa’idah 5:117].”

(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3349)

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘You will be gathered barefoot, naked and uncircumcised.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah, men and women will be looking at one another?!’ He said, ‘The situation will be so terrible that that will not concern them.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6527)

And it was narrated in the hadeeth that people will be resurrected in the clothes in which they died. It was narrated that when Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri was dying, he called for new clothes and put them on, then he said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘The deceased will be resurrected in the clothes in which he died.’” (Narrated by Abu Dawood, 3114; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 1671).

This hadeeth may seem to contradict the hadeeth quoted above, which says that they will be resurrected naked. The scholars reconciled between the two reports by noting the following points:

1- That they will be raised in those garments but they will wear out after the resurrection, and when they reach the place of standing they will be naked.

2- They will be raised naked then when the Prophets and Siddeeqs etc have been clothed, everyone else will be clothed in the same kind of clothes as those in which they died.

3- Some of the scholars interpreted this hadeeth as referring to the martyrs (shuhada’), because they are the ones whom the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded should be buried in the clothes in which they died, so they will be resurrected in their clothes in order to distinguish them from others.

4- What is meant by clothes is righteous deeds, as in the verses (interpretation of the meanings)

“and the raiment of righteousness, that is better”[al-A’raaf 7:26]

“And purify your garments”[al-Muddaththir 74:4]

What is meant by a person being resurrected according to what he was doing when he died is that if his final action was good, then it will be good (for him) and if it was bad then it will be bad (for him). This is indicated by the hadeeth of Jaabir who said: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘Every person will be resurrected in the manner that he died.’” (Narrated by Muslim, 2878)

And Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him): “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘When Allaah sends down punishment upon a people, the punishment also befalls those who were among them, then they will be resurrected according to their deeds.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 7108).

This is also indicated by the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: “Whilst a man was at ‘Arafah, he fell from his mount and broke his neck (or it broke his neck). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and shroud him in two garments, but do not apply perfume or cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection reciting the Talbiyah.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1265).

And it was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every wound that the Muslim receives for the sake of Allaah will appear on the Day of Resurrection as it was at the time when it was inflicted; blood will be flowing from the wound and its color will be that of blood but its smell will be the fragrance of musk.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 237).

Hence it is mustahabb to encourage one who is dying to say Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, so that these good words will be his last words in this world and he will be raised saying them on the Day of Resurrection.

See Fath al-Baari, 11/383

The people will be gathered on that Day on another earth, one that is different from this earth, with specific features that are explained in the Sunnah. It was narrated that Sahl ibn Sa’d said: “I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, ‘The people will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection on reddish white land like a pure loaf of bread (made from pure fine flour).” Sahl or someone else said, “It will have no landmarks for anyone (to make use of).” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6521)

‘Afra’ (translated here as reddish) means white that has a hint of redness; or it was said that it is intensely white; or it was said that it means pure white. A pure loaf of bread means a loaf that is made from pure flour that is unadulterated.

What are the actions which, if a Muslim does them, he will be an apostate from Islam?.

What are the actions which, if a Muslim does them, he will be an apostate from Islam?.

Praise be to Allaah.

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Note that Allaah has commanded all people to enter Islam and to adhere to it and to beware of whatever is contrary to it. He sent His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to call mankind to that. He tells us that those who follow him will be guided and that those who turn away from him have gone astray. In many verses He warns against the means that lead to apostasy and all forms of shirk and kufr. The scholars (may Allaah have mercy on them) have said, when discussing apostasy, that a Muslim may apostatize from his religion by doing many acts that nullify Islam, which makes it permissible to shed his blood and seize his wealth, and which will put him beyond the pale of Islam. Among the most serious and most common of these things are ten which were mentioned by Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab and other scholars (may Allaah have mercy on them all). We will mention them in brief here, so that you and others can beware of them, in the hope that you will be safe and sound. We will also explain a little about them after mentioning each one.

1 – Shirk or associating others in worship with Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Verily, Allaah forgives not (the sin of) setting up partners (in worship) with Him, but He forgives whom He wills, sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah, has indeed strayed far away”[al-Nisa’ 4:116]

“Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode”[al-Maa’idah 5:72]

That includes praying to the dead, seeking their help, making vows and offering sacrifices to them or to the jinn or to the grave.

2 – Whoever sets up intermediaries between himself and Allaah, asks them to intercede, and puts his trust in them, is a kaafir according to scholarly consensus.

3 – Whoever does not regard the mushrikeen as kaafirs, or doubts that they are kaafirs, or regards their way as correct, is a kaafir.

4 – Whoever believes that anything other than the teaching of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is more complete than his teachings, or that the rulings of anyone else are better than his rulings – such as those who prefer the rule of false laws to his rulings – is a kaafir.

5 – Whoever hates any part of that which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought, even if he acts in accordance with it, is a kaafir, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“That is because they hate that which Allaah has sent down (this Qur’aan and Islamic laws); so He has made their deeds fruitless”[Muhammad 47:9]

6 – Whoever makes fun of anything in the religion of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), or makes fun of any texts that refer to rewards or punishments, is a kaafir. The evidence for that is the verse (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say: Was it at Allaah, and His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and His Messenger that you were mocking?

Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed”[al-Tawbah 9:65-66]

7 – Sihr (witchcraft) – including spells to turn one person against another or to make someone love another. Whoever does this or approves of it is a kaafir. The evidence for that is the verse (interpretation of the meaning):

“but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, ‘We are for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)’”[al-Baqarah 2:102]

8 – Supporting the mushrikeen and helping them against the Muslims. The evidence for that is the verse in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Awliyaa’ (friends, protectors, helpers), they are but Awliyaa’ of each other. And if any amongst you takes them (as Awliyaa’), then surely, he is one of them. Verily, Allaah guides not those people who are the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers and unjust)”[al-Maa'idah 5:51]

9 – Whoever believes that some people are allowed to operate outside the law of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) just as al-Khidr operated outside the law of Moosa (peace be upon him) is a kaafir, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers”[Aal ‘Imraan 3:85]

10 – Turning away from the religion of Allaah, not learning it and not acting in accordance with it. The evidence for that is the verse (interpretation of the meaning):

“And who does more wrong than he who is reminded of the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of his Lord, then turns aside therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the Mujrimoon (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners)”[al-Sajdah 32:22]

With regard to all of these acts that nullify Islam, it makes no difference whether a person is joking, serious or afraid, unless he is forced to do it. All of them are very serious, and they all happen a great deal. The Muslim should beware of them and fear falling into them. We seek refuge with Allaah from the things that may incur His wrath and painful punishment. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon the best of His creation, Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.

The fourth category includes those who believe that the systems and laws devised by men are better than the sharee’ah of Islam, or equal to it; or that it is permissible to refer to them for judgements and rulings, even if he believes that referring to sharee’ah is better; or that the Islamic system is not fit to be applied in the twentieth century; or that it was the cause of the Muslims’ backwardness; or that it should be limited to a person’s relationship with his Lord and not have anything to do with the other affairs of life

The fourth category also includes those who think that carrying out the ruling of Allaah by cutting off the hand of the thief or stoning the married adulterer is not appropriate in the modern age.

That also includes: everyone who believes that it is permissible to rule according to something other than the laws of Allaah with regard to interactions, hudood punishments or other matters, even if he does not believe that that is better than the ruling of sharee’ah, because by doing so he is regarding as permissible something that Allaah has forbidden according to consensus, and everyone who regards as permissible something that Allaah has forbidden and is well known to be forbidden in Islam, such that no Muslim has any excuse for not knowing that it is forbidden, such as adultery, alcohol and riba, and ruling by something other than the sharee’ah of Allaah, is a kaafir according to the consensus of the Muslims.

We ask Allaah to help us all to do that which pleases Him, and to guide us and all the Muslims to His Straight Path, for He is All Hearing, Ever-Responsive. May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

WARNING & DANGER - REASONS TO AVOID SINS

Warning! Keep away from all sin, (minor & major), and beware of it and avoid it, for sin is bad news for the one who does it. Why?

Well, there are reasons:

1. You will be deprived of provision. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘A person is deprived of provision because of the sins that he or she commits.’” [Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022]

2. Things will become difficult for him or her, so that he or she does not turn his/her attention towards any matter, but he/she finds the way blocked or he/she finds it difficult. By the same token, for the one who fears Allah, things are made easy for him or her.

3. You will be deprived of knowledge because knowledge is light that Allah causes to reach the heart, and sin extinguishes that light. When Imam As-Shaafa’i sat before Maalik and read to him, he admired him because of the intelligence, alertness and understanding that he saw in him. He said, “I think that Allah has caused light to enter your heart, so do not extinguish it with the darkness of sin.”

4. Sin weakens a person’s willpower.

a)    It gradually strengthens their will to commit sin,

b)    and weakens their will to repent until there is no will in their heart to repent at all… so they seek forgiveness and expresses repentance, but it is merely words on the lips, like the repentance of the liars, whose hearts are still determined to commit sin and persist in it.

c)    This is one of the most serious diseases that are most likely to lead to doom.

d)    Now, do you understand why some people complain: “I don’t feel joy in worship” or “reading the Quran doesn’t move me”.

5. It deprivation of worship and obedience.

a.    If sin brought no punishment other than that, it prevents a person from doing an act of worship which is the opposite of sin, and cuts off access to other acts of worship, that would be bad enough.

b.    So the sin cuts off a third way and a fourth way and so on, and because of the sin he/she is cut off from many acts of worship, each of which would have been better for him/her than this world and everything in it.

c.     So he/she is like a person who eats food that is bound to cause a lengthy sickness, and thus he/she is deprived of many other foods that are better than that. And Allah is the One Whose help we seek.

6. When someone sins, there is sense of alienation that comes between a person and their Lord, and between them and other people. One of the past righteous predecessors said: “If I disobey Allah, I see that in the attitude of my riding beast and my wife.”

7. Even worst, sin breeds sin until it dominates a person and they cannot escape from it.

8. The sinners will find darkness in their heart, which they will feel just as they feel the darkness of night.

a.    So this darkness affects their heart as the physical darkness affects their vision.

b.    For obedience is light and disobedience is darkness.

c.     The stronger the darkness grows, the greater becomes their confusion, until they fall into innovation, misguidance and other things that lead to doom, without even realizing,

d.    like a blind man who goes out in the darkness of the night, walking alone.

e.    This darkness grows stronger until it covers the eyes, then it grows stronger until it covers the face, which appears dark and is seen by everyone.

f.     Abdullah ibn Abbas said: “Good deeds make the face light, give light to the heart, and bring about ample provision, physical strength and love in people’s hearts. Bad deeds make the face dark, give darkness to the heart, and bring about physical weakness, a lack of provision and hatred in people’s hearts.”

9. A sinner becomes desensitized and will no longer find sin abhorrent, so it will become his habit, and he will not be bothered if people see him committing the sin or talk about him.

How this starts is that the heart gets stained by sin, and if the sin increases then the stain grows bigger until it becomes the raan (covering of sin and evil deeds), then it increases until it becomes a seal, and the heart becomes covered and sealed.

If that happens after a person had been guided and had understood, then his or her heart is turned upside down, and at that point the Shaytan gains control over him or her, and directs him or her as he (the shaytan) wants.

So be-careful my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, and do your best to avoid any sin as much as possible. May Allah guide us and protect us from All evil!

SO WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO ERASE SINS YOU ASK?

Well! The traces of sin may be erased by means of:

a.    sincere repentance,

b.    good deeds that erase sin,

c.     Wudu

d.    the five daily prayers

e.    Hajj and Umrah

f.     heartfelt affirmation of the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed),

[End quote from Hidaayat al-Hayaari, p. 130 ].

The greatest of good deeds is Tawheed (affirmation of the Oneness of Allah), and the gravest of evil deeds is kufr (disbelief) and shirk (ascribing partners to Allah).

Also, saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (there is no god but Allah) is the greatest of good deeds, and the most sublime of the branches of faith, as the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“Faith has seventy-odd – or sixty-odd – branches, the best of which is saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, and the least of which is removing something harmful from the road, and modesty is a branch of faith.” [Narrated by al-Bukhaari (9) and Muslim (35), from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah. ]

In another hadith (Hadith Qudsi), the prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever does a good deed will have a tenfold reward and more, and whoever does a bad deed its recompense is one like it, or I will forgive him or her.” [Muslim narrated in his Saheeh (2687)]

In fact, Allah offers a great promise to those who fear Him:

مَن كَانَ يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ‌ۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مَخۡرَجً۬ا (٢)

And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his [her] duty to Him, He will make a way for him[her] to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him[her] from (sources) that he or she never could imagine” [at-Talaaq 65:2]

The one who fears Allah is the one:

a.    who fulfills obligatory duties and avoids things that are forbidden.

b.    That also includes the one who sins, then repents and turns to Allah,

c.     and the one who goes back to sin, then repents from it again, because piety or fearing Allah, may He be exalted, means doing what is enjoined and refraining from what is forbidden.

It is not stipulated that the pious one who fears Allah should be infallible and free of bad deeds, otherwise most people would be deprived of this honour and virtue.

For every son of Adam sins; and the best of those who sin are those who repent. The one who sins then repents is one of the pious for whom there is the hope of the promise mentioned in the verse quoted above.

The grace of Allah is vast, and what matters is that each individual should focus on striving.
